Am I being swindled?

I’m an immigrant from Canada and I recently took a job in the states. I’ve been working at this job for a little over a week. the interview it went like this HR: “wow, why has nobody hired you yet you’ve got such great skills! How long have you been applying for?” Me: “thank you, I’ve been applying since December” HR: “do you know why nobody has hired you yet? Why is it taking so long?” Me: “the economy is slowing down and I started looking close to christmas” HR:“I don’t think anybody is hiring you because you’re an immigrant but we are a very inclusive company. I’m an immigrant from Canada and I recently took a job in the states. I’ve been working at this job for a little over a week.

the interview it went like this

HR: “wow, why has nobody hired you yet you’ve got such great skills! How long have you been applying for?”
Me: “thank you, I’ve been applying since December”
HR: “do you know why nobody has hired you yet? Why is it taking so long?”
Me: “the economy is slowing down and I started looking close to christmas”
HR:“I don’t think anybody is hiring you because you’re an immigrant but we are a very inclusive company. In fact I’m finding that nobody wants to work anymore”

The job is $16 per hour, working most holidays and it’s in business administration. The benefits is just money towards my existing plan and I’m on probation for 3 months before I supposedly get a raise. The job listing didn’t even have a description of the job just what they were looking for.

The job also seems to have a high turnover rate as the past girls in my position were leaving reviews just months apart.

I haven’t told them I’m autistic at all and I’m worried that my autism is making it so I’m unable to see if I was swindled or not.
