I got my annual raise today. It doesn’t even begin to cover the inflationary pressures I’m feeling with the cost of food, college, or auto repair. I’m the best employee on my team and my company thinks this is just enough to get me not to quit. There are three ratings: Outstanding, Effective, or Off Track. I’ve been Outstanding since starting this job- in fact, I got a shoutout from an executive saying I was the best of the best in 2020. This is what they think of me and my hard work: a pay cut, effectively.
