jobs are like diapers. they should be switched frequently and for the same reason.

I left college with an engineering degree. Couldn't get an engineering job, and landed in technical sales at $55k. I felt like a failure, like I wasn't coming close to my own expectations. Your employer doesn't care about you, only what you can produce for them. You owe them no loyalty. You owe them nothing.

Make your resume look like the job opportunities you want, and go for it. Also, don't give notice when you leave. Tell them you are giving them two weeks notice on the day before your last day. They are likely to escort you out that same day and pay out your two weeks “notice”. Then you get an extra two weeks of pay. If they let you work your notice just be like, hey plans changed I gotta take off earlier than expected. Bye.
