For the past couple months, my hours have been cut dramatically. I have lost 1/3 of my usual monthly pay. Because of this, I found work elsewhere and picked up a different part time job. I changed my availability (apparently a sin) at my current employer and they lost their shit.
They had a meeting with me where they tried to intimidate me into keeping open availability by threatening to cut my hours further, bringing up that I'll loose my benefits (definitely a personal attack since I suffer from conditions that require frequent appointments), and trying to tell me that the employer comes first.
I just kept telling them that they aren't giving me enough money so I'm going to where I can make more. That I've been asking them for a while to increase my hours and they haven't done that. I was told that isn't true. That I haven't complained for almost a year now, so they thought this was fine. That they are 'struggling' to give me what I have now, but if I don't go through with a change in availability, they will magically be able to give me a little bit more (yet still not what I'm asking them for). But if I go through with this, they won't even be able to give me what I had anymore.
I said no and stood my ground. They tried to pretend they were worried about my health and said they were trying to 'do me a favor'. That ship has LONG sailed. The next schedules have been posted that include my availability change. They have slashed my hours even further to be petty. I guess they thought I'd complain or be upset.
Well, there was a call out and guess who was begged to come in? The same person who ignored their messages, that's who. Lol.
