So my husband got a call last night from the owner of the company he works for stating that one of the employees called him complaining that my husband was discussing his salary.
My husband swears up and down that he wasn’t.
He just started this job at the end of December, we moved our family and 2 little infants 3 states away for the position that he took. Things have been going great out here but we came to the conclusion that the place we moved to isn’t for us.
My husband requested a transfer back home to a new project they have starting up in the state that we originally moved from so we have been in the process of waiting to start transferring back home which would take 2 months from now.
My husband had made a friend at work who we then started hanging out with every weekends, going to church, lunch, dinners ect…
Well yesterday this coworker/friend left work early and as we had plans with him the next day my husband had been trying to call him and he didn’t answer all day.
Later that night my husband gets a call from the chief of operations officer stating that this guy called him and told him they were discussing wages and now he’s pissed because my husband makes more than him so now he’s making a big fuss within the company.
The chief of operations told my husband “you better not be fucking lying to me because I don’t deal with that shit” my husband responds with “sir I’m sorry but I’m not lying I have no idea what you’re talking about or what happened”
His hire up then tells him “I’m going to call so and so again and if he tells me otherwise you’re fucking fired”
My husband receives a phone call shortly after from him stating “you’re fired, you can pick up your last check on Monday and turn your shit in”
That was the whole conversation.
This happened in the state of New Mexico, they have been paying for our apartment and now we have 2 days to pack up and move back home.
What are his legal options in this matter?
