its a snow a day so all of our technicians didnt show up. I am one of the office people for my department who is more than capable of doing the technician job but covering for them isn’t on my job description. Nor have I received any training for the job I am not responsible for. I have no fear of getting fired because there are some not so ethical things happening behind the scenes that we all just happen to be okay with. (things that could easily bankrupt the company and I am well aware of what they are and where to report). I recently got a 2% raise, but for my workload and work ethic i figured i deserved at least 3%. My boss is a chill dude who doesnt micromanage but today told me “we have to play technician today” which I know means me and not the both of us. I think I could get away with just doing my regular job and not the technician job today since a lot of people didn’t show up due to snow. But if my boss asks me why Im not doing it I wont hesitate to say that Im not properly compensated for the stress I am expected to take on. I refuse to quit unless I have another job offer which i currently do not. I will happily do the job Im paid for but I refuse to work for free, they will have to fire me. Which could come with consequence if i feel evil enough
