I work in a factory as a cleaner and have to clock in (as per). We have an iPad on one end of the factory that’s used to clock in but I don’t come into the factory on this side therefore I don’t clock in via the iPad.
Today, I use the app to clock in but was charged £3 as a start fee and also charged £5 to clock in and apparently, will be charged £5 every time I clock in via this app.
Is this not illegal? To charge me to work? I have to clock in to prove my hours for my paycheque. I’m in shock how this could be allowed.
Side note: I’m also in the stages of early pregnancy so I’d rather not have to use the iPad which is far away and out of my way.
