I finally did it! I quit!

I worked for this company for 17 years. I used to be full time operations manager until I had a child. When I had a child I relinquished my responsibilities as manager in order to work part time. My employer made me part time assistant manager, with a decent wage. I took the offer. Fast forward 7months and my employer has notified me that my current work arrangement ‘isn’t working for the company’ and that ‘in her opinion 7 months is long enough to adjust to motherhood and it’s time to come back to work.’ She proposed 4 options to me: two of which involve working full time again, which I do not have childcare so they are out of the questions. One of which involves a significant pay cut and loosing my families health insurance due to keeping part time schedule. The last is none. This is a slap…

I choose none! I will not be strong armed. I don’t know where I’m going next but It feels so good to quit finally.
