Had a great interview. Told me they’d call with “training and next steps.” Ghosted me.

So, yeah. Let’s call the business: Generic Cafe. Let’s call the owner: Carol. I interview for a position that I am 100% qualified for. The interview goes great, Carol is smiling and laughing, she takes down my availability. She asks how I’d create more business and more income streams for the cafe. She writes down my ideas and says, “wow, those are things I hadn’t thought of before.” We talk about the job, the role, the place etc. Carol states she wants to push “certain people” out of the market with pricing and how she’s not allowing people to take tables for only a $4 cappuccino. This rubs me the wrong way but I continue to listen. She talks about how important honesty from her staff is to her. Poof, Carol disappears into thin air like a confusing tinder date. I never hear from her on Tuesday. Its now a week later.

This has never happened to me before. Always it’s, “if you’re the successful candidate then we’ll call on Tuesday.” Never, “I’ll call you Tuesday” but not really.
I thought I had the job, she expressed how exciting it was to meet me and how she was looking forward to talking again soon. Says she wants me to meet the staff soon. And then an almost 60 year old woman ghosted me. I get it, I didn’t get the job, but why make it seem like I did? Why stress the importance of honesty but then not follow through on your voiced intentions?
Why am I so bothered by this? It feels so shitty and unprofessional. Part of me wants to send a message to her, but maybe that’s petty. She wasted my time and led me to believe that I’d begin training the following week.
Am I overreacting? Would you contact her? Should I just let it go and not leave a bad review?
Ugh I don’t know what I’m looking for, maybe I just needed to vent.
Edited for spelling.
