Need an Anti-Work Pep Talk To Quit

I've been working a job for about 8 weeks, where the tasks I was hired to do changed shortly after I accepted my offer. My boss is a nice enough guy, but our contract on the project I was primarily hired to work is ending abruptly, and my role has changed significantly. I found a new job with a more established, consistent (as far as I can tell) company with better pay, doing the job I was originally hired to do at job A. I now need to quit my current job without giving notice. Frankly, giving two weeks notice on a job I've worked for 8 weeks feels ridiculous. I plan to be as polite and professional as possible, but I'm quitting entirely last-minute so I expect it will go over poorly. I now need to quit my current job without giving notice. Frankly, giving two weeks notice on a job I've worked for 8 weeks feels ridiculous. I know they would fire me without notice, I know two weeks is a courtesy that only helps your employer… but the internalized capitalism in me is screaming that this is NOT OK. A pep talk, and any tips you might have about quitting without notice, would be helpful.
