Manager blamed me for being unprofessional when the situation was entirely her fault

Hey there. Just need to vent really. 23F here. I work for a freelance entertainment agency for schools to get some extra cash while I’m studying. We basically get trial lessons booked which we do in case a school wants to work with us. My manager has always told me if a session is too far away or too much hassle, to let her know. I had two sessions booked today- one near my house and one about an hour away. I told her after my morning lesson (4 hours before my afternoon one) that I fear two sessions in one day, around my uni schedule, might be too much moving forward, but I’m happy to do the trial session today so I’m not cancelling last minute, and so someone else could potentially take over following this (this isn’t unusual in the company.) Hey there.

I told her after my morning lesson (4 hours before my afternoon one) that I fear two sessions in one day, around my uni schedule, might be too much moving forward, but I’m happy to do the trial session today so I’m not cancelling last minute, and so someone else could potentially take over following this (this isn’t unusual in the company.)

She told me there was no point in going to the trial session if I couldn’t commit to the lessons, to which I replied, again: “I am more than happy to go in today.” She told me again to cancel it.

So I ring who I need to ring and tell them that I’m really sorry but I was going to have to cancel. The lady on the phone was actually really nice and understood.

About an hour later, my manager calls me and tells me that by cancelling last minute, I was being incredibly unprofessional, and left a bad reputation of the company on the school.

I mentioned to her that I told her twice that I would go in, and that I was confused as she was now back tracking?

She told me that she wasn’t at the office during the time she told me to cancel, and didn’t realise the lesson was today, even though she handles my timetable, and sent a photo of my timetable just yesterday confirming the two sessions, and I told her both of these sessions were today.

She told me that this school might not want to work with us again because I cancelled so last minute, even though it was under her instruction, and now I’m being made to look like the bad one?

Just needed to rant really.
