Looking for advice. My company had two mass lay offs last year. My team got affected the worst in our department as we lost 4 people. Myself and a coworker were the last two standing and split the work of 6 people between us. We were working 60 hour weeks for months to keep everything afloat and didn’t get any OT. We were offered comp days under the table, however, these days came with a lot of “rules” and we never ended up using them. We did get help and hired on a couple more people in the fall to the team, however, my supervisor hasn’t really split the work equally. We have been in busy season since November and will last until June. At this point I have been working 60-70 hours a week for a year with no end in sight and I am burnt out. Completely. I had to start therapy to deal with burnout/stress/anxiety/depression. It also doesn’t really help that my supervisor works maybe 20 hours a week while we’re struggling to keep our heads above water. I wish I could just work 40 hours and log off but the industry I work in is very hostile and toxic and you will get screamed at if things aren’t finished. We find out our bonus next week and and my supervisor told our group to not be disappointed by what we get since it’s different than how it’s usually done (this year our company decided on performance based bonus). I am a little anxious about this because I have given 150% to my job this past year and it’s probably going to go unnoticed. I am just done.
