A bit of a vent post if you guys don’t mind. In my store I work receiving in a joke improvement store. I work 8 hour shifts. At my particular store it’s an extremely high volume store we do almsot 2 million a week. Any way I’m in receiving and at my store the receiving takes the boss( online ) orders down and puts them in the cage for fullfillment. Some stores have a separate job for this apparently we don’t. Everytime I go down to put stuff in the cage im bombarded by customers needing help. It’s like I’m driving a life boat and they are drowning. They are everywhere clamoring at the walls. I do my best to help any way I can and try to find managers that have keys. Page people etc. no one comes. I feel like they are losing money and customers hand over fist due to this. Sometimes it feels like there’s no one working. The cashiers are overworked etc. anyway at the end of the day I finished most all my work which is supposed to be the boss orders. My co worker seemed pissed that he was having to move all the stuff out to do the Rdc truck and it wasn’t all cleared out when he had shown up 3 hours earlier and didn’t really help with the store inventory boxes until about 4:30. He has a fork lift license and I’m trying to get one but they keep pushing back cuz they are too busy too deal with it so I was supposed to get my license like the first week but it’s been a few months and I still don’t have it. So whenever there’s trucks the other 2 workers unload them with forklifts while I’m stuck on box duty opening and inventorying everything. His attitude was fuk the customers and acting like I should have had all the boxes cleared out by the time I was leaving but I literally was doing boss online orders all day and helping customers as no one else would. I almost quit when he started giving me shit and told him it’s not just my job to work the boxes it’s everyone’s I’m in charge of the boss orders pretty much and that’s it not the store inventory boxes. He even said something about me maybe not being able to get my license if I can’t clear the boxes out by the time my shift is over as if he’s a manager. I don’t get why the pissy attitude either. There’s no manager around to complain that’s it not done or anything and he’s still gonna be there like another 5 hours so he can deal with it. I’m literally the new guy why is so much responsibility being dumped on me ?. He’s just been there maybe a year ? Def wants to be manager and already assuming it.
