I am currently conducting research for my thesis on destructive leadership styles. Specifically, we are interested in learning how they contribute to a toxic work environment, and the negative impact these leadership styles may have on employees.
I am looking to involve people between the ages of 30-65 that have, currently or previously, been a mid-level, senior, or executive manager and have worked with or reported to an individual who exhibits destructive leadership characteristics (i.e., self-promotion, abusive supervision, unpredictability, narcissism, and authoritarian leadership). Participation involves completing three surveys and should take no longer than 20 minutes.
The goal for this study is to offer guidance to corporate boards, executive leadership coaches, and talent development managers about the nature of harmful leadership and the detrimental impact this type of leader has on the work environment and employees. In addition, we also hope this information will be valuable to clinicians working with individuals who have experienced burnout from being subjected to this type of interaction and environment.
This survey is anonymous. However, if you complete the study and chose to provide your email, you will be included in a lottery for a gift card. In addition, those who complete the study have an option to receive a brief summary of their own personal findings.
If you would like to participate, please click the link below and follow the instructions. Also, feel free to forward this to anyone you know who may also be interested in taking part in this study.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
