At a conference for work, our employer took us to a nightclub, ordered bottle service, got blacked out, then asked us to pay

At a recent work conference, one of our C-suite invited our team to go out to a nightclub. At the nightclub they ordered bottle service, they got blacked out (I drank 1 drink), then asked us a week later to split the tab among the team and said it was just a party, and not a team building thing. Is this normal? I'm in USA.
