Its weird. I have been constantly working the standard 40 hour week for about 7 years. I got laid off from a law firm that I have done nothing but praised for 2 in a half years. And the sad thing is that it wasn't just me who was let go. Other good, hard working people were let go. We were not let go for our performance. We were let go because the owner of this law firm failed us. And instead of sinking with his ship, he threw us overboard.
The crazy thing is that I am freaking out even if I have secretely wished to be rid of this lifestyle. So many weekends I wondered what it would be like not to have to run through the morning commute. Not to be a slave to my desk for 8 hours.
I consider myself an independent person. But being let go of a very secure, safe, managed way of living will be a true test of that.
Does anyone have success stories? Personal experiences? Words of wisdom? I need help to see more possibilities of a happy life. Tia
