My wife is a manager on salary, and is paid a monthly bonus if her office reaches a PnL goal each month, which she usually does.
But now she is being told that her and several other managers have been being paid commision based on sales, which managers are not allowed/supposed to recieve. But she never knew because when she receives her bonus, would also get commission, it wasn't on a regular basis so she thought it was part of her bonuses because the employees that do sales get commission every month.
And apparently this mistake was noticed today, but why does she have to pay for their mistake that took them over a year to discover? Resulting in a much larger total to be paid?
Not sure if S.O.L, or something fishy going on?
