A year ago I was recruited to lead a project that didn’t come with an immediate pay raise but was told that it was great “exposure” and opportunities for career development. Well, I completely excelled and the project was a huge success.
About two months ago I was told that I would be sent back to my original role out of the blue. That killed my spirit as I put in so many hours of work (weekends, after hours, holidays, basically avail at any time). The VPs had nothing but positive feedback but ultimately I was used for my skills and work ethic.
I asked for a pay raise and was denied. So I asked HR to investigate and they also denied it. So I submitted a formal complaint with HR and corporate.. 2 weeks later I got a 10% salary increase without a word from anyone.
