I was tasked to travel to another location to review another branch, so was supposed to be given a round trip ticket paid for by the company via my immediate boss. When it closed a few hours ago and everyone went home, I was trying to go back, but then found out my job did not give me a two-way round trip ticket for the transportation they provided me. They Instead only gave me a one-way ticket.
When I pointed this out to my supervisor and other leadership I could, they all declined to help saying that my immediate manager has confirmed with them they gave me a one-way ticket even though I showed and sent them that this wasn't the case. Saying that maybe I left the ticket and that it is not their responsibility to get me back to town. Except how would I have left the ticket? I'm the only one they sent (and only one needing it because I don't have a new car yet since I'm currently repairing my poor credit) so there was only one ticket, amazing incompetence. See for yourself:
As shown above, is an example of a text message I've recently received from my incompetent regional lead (edit a ticket?), and I haven't heard back from him since, I am now stranded at this location. The company, which of course I will be quitting when I find a way back home, is not going to help. Unfortunately, the only way I'm going to be able to get back home from here this late (it's 9PM eastern) is with either Lyft or Uber, and both of them are unaffordable to me, they want $90-$105 for the ride near my house from where I am now:
I've never experienced such terrible people, terrible incompetence, and just complete lack of care by the company that they have their (soon to be EX) employee stuck at a location needing help. Like I said as soon as a solution comes up I'm logging into the the job dashboard and sending my quit request with a few choice words I think the company deserves to hear. in the meantime any help or ideas would be appreciated.
