i worked at a huge corporate diner. i was very sick, in fact everyone at work the previous day took notice of this and helped me out a bit. i called out of work the next day following protocol, properly, 6+ hours ahead of time. the next morning my manager texts me that i’m “not taking this job seriously” and fired me. i worked there for four years, i had a great relationship with my coworkers, i was known to be a very hard worker who did my job very well. i never had any problems until we got a new manager a few months ago
but thanks to the blessings of republicans, i live in a “right to work” state where really they can fire me for any reason at any time so i can’t do anything about it :,) i also don’t qualify for unemployment because they kept me working just under 40 hrs/week and would not allow me more hours. god bless america
