Antiwork

Many Americans don’t want better working conditions because they are fine with suffering if a person darker than them suffers more.

President Lyndon B. Johnson once said, “If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you.” Many Americans are okay with going to food pantries in their 80s while working at walmart, as long as they can deny darker people a decent quality of life too. How many of these boomers and elderly people who still work and live paycheck to paycheck complained about integration, affirmative action, non-white immigrants, women swearing, women having rights, women who don't have kids, gay people minding their own business in the park, interracial couples on tv. These are a hate-filled people, content to watch the world burn if it means a dark person is closer to the fire.
