I have worked for this company for about a year but I just started a new position after being approached sec times over the last month. I work in production and packaging. The position they need help with is front of house serving. I have a 2 year old and my time is limited. I have to make arrangements for my childcare in advance. I was told they would only need me one day a week till April. I arranged childcare for that then was told they wanted to train me sooner and schedule me for two days this week on top of that is still work in production. I talked to my childcare provider rearranged my schedule as well as theirs. When I was half way through my production shift yesterday I was informed I was not needed for my shift today. This last minute shift is extremely frustrating. Is she even allowed to do that?
