I was gonna quit anyway in May. The company has done many things for me, my boss has helped me out a lot too, but ever since they sold the company to a rich man that doesn't give a shit about us my boss has become extremely money-driven and wants to cut expenses (aka our overtime).
There's soooo many things he could fix instead but he's getting really fixated on my overtime. $200 extra a week is really not gonna hurt a multi-million company will it?
- He first told me he wants the average of EACH department to be 45 hours max. I was calculating everyone's hours and we were at 43. This week I did more OT than allowed and he told me I need to go down on my hours (I thought it was an average??) and then he doesn't tell anything to other small departments who are still doing OT so I feel this is kinda personal.
- I can't stand the constant bullying, gossip, and horrible management of my department and this has never been addressed. My dept. has been notorious for having mean girls and idk how many times I cried to my boss that I can't take it anymore and he never did anything about it. These women could be my mom and they act like High School bullies. I despise these women, the emotional trauma they put me on, and I have never hated anybody so much and trust me Ive met some horrible people.
- My boss never gave me a backup. So nobody knows how to do my job. I feel this is a sign that my boss doesn't take me seriously or thinks my job is not as important. Even then, it still requires lots of training, rules and it's time consuming. What if I got into an accident or something, who's gonna pay the customers? Also this is a reason I haven't been able to take vacations, because nobody can or wants to cover me. I only get 5 PTO days and Ive only taken 1 full week ONCE and it was a complete and utter fkn drama because I was gone too long.
SO Idk what I should do?
-Quit on the spot? let them figure it out?-Give one week and half-ass train somebody?-Give my 2 weeks to end in good terms with the company?
I'm also taking my future jobs into consideration, letters of recommendation and references. I even thought about returning since the company is not so bad but NOT to my current department.
