What’s the reason for American salaries being so incredibly high on average compared to EU wages?

Hi there, I live in Germany, and I was wondering why the wages people made in America were so enormous. To be in the top 10% in terms of income in Germany nowadays, as an individual, you'd need something like 4000 euros net per month, more or less 5500 euros gross :https://www.iamexpat.de/expat-info/german-expat-news/are-you-part-germanys-richest-10-percent (the link is from 2018, so it got a bit better since then). Thing is, the vast majority of German workers earn between 1500 – 2500 euros net per month currently. I see the super big wages some Americans earn, and I wonder why that is? Are Americans just more productive, or is it simply due to the GDP in America? Thank you.
