I was recently terminated from my job because (after the schedule was already posted, keep in mind i work 9-5 5 days a week.) a little back story on this im a houseman/maitenence person for a hotel. this involves fixing random things like vaccums or stripping 50 rooms in a day for the housekeepers. Recently within the last 6 months they hired a brazilian housekeeping company because they didnt have enough help, and the rest of the regular housekeeping staff got there hours cut over time and they eventually quit. Anyways now that you have the back story, I come into work one day and clock in and i see on the schedule my normal 9-5 on saturday was changed to 1-9 pm. and then they expect me to come in 9-5 the following day. I was not informed of the change and the schedule had been posted and they penciled it in. Long story short i confronted managment about it told them i could not do what they were asking. my 2 female managers started a fight with me over it saying that this is what the hotel needs at this time and i simply just said no sorry i cannot do that it is unreasonable, anyways i had my 2 days off afterwards and on my second day off i was called and told i was terminated. I have filed for unenployment and the company is trying to fight it and it so stressful.
