Starting next week my full-time remote position is being changed to a “hybrid schedule” with three days in office each week. The previous president noted that productivity and collaboration has improved significantly since the change to remote, but the guy who started less than three months ago insists we need to be in the same location for collaboration.
I want some good ideas for quiet protest or malicious compliance. Nothing that will get negative attention or put my job at risk. Just something management can see that might help them reconsider the policy.
Ideas I've got so far:
Digital photo frame with pictures of my child crying when I leave to work.
Bring in my mechanical keyboard to use in office.
Prepare expense reports for all my travel expenses.
“Days since…” Sign that represents something about coming in to work.
What can you think of?
I've already updated my resume and started applying for new positions. I'm not going to rush it. I like the product I work with and my fellow coworkers are great. I'm hoping a few things will fall into place and upper management will realize that remote work is ideal for us and there is no need for 90% of us to work in office. But I'm not holding my breath either.
