At my last job I had a great manager and nice co workers and we all got along and joked around with each other and I honestly think that that job was a 10/10 at first.
We got a new employee who was an asshole to me literally since day one and he always tried to boss me around despite not being the manager. Well one day around the start of December I get to work to find only him and one other Co worker there when we should have had my manager and one other guy there.
He looks at me with a serious expression and tells me that “my manager and the other guy are no longer with us, im the new manager”. I felt fucking sick hearing that my least favorite person at work was now my boss and I knew that my days there were severely numbered. He immediately starts trying to change almost everything and he was undermining every thing I did. It was genuine hell and I wanted nothing more than to just run our of there as fast as I could.
Unfortunately I was there for about 2-2.5 months afterwards as I couldn't find another job and I think those months genuinely took a bit of time off of my life. I felt constantly sick I couldn't breathe and was in so much pain which almost immediately went away after I finally left. I was so overworked since I also had highschool full time and he never gave me any days off on the days that I previously had as the preferred days(one day in the week and one in the weekend). I also rarely got to take a break which was illegal apparently since I'm a minor.
I have a new job now and it's not at all perfect but its better than there. Sorry for the rant but I feel that this would be good to post.
