Thinking of starting to work only a few months a year in the US, then travel to a cheaper to live in country for a few months

Pretty much title. Does anyone think it's viable? I'm 23 right now, no families, no kids, and these dead end jobs are killing my soul, so I'm trying to find ways to reduce my time in it as much as possible while being able to live life. I'm thinking of only working for about 5-6 months a year, get that decent chunk of money and travel to a cheaper to live in country like Vietnam, Indonesia, or Philippines, live there for also a few months (5-6 months) then travel back to the US to work and repeat. Is anyone doing this? If so, how is it working out for you?
