Switching career paths shouldn’t be as difficult as it is

Backstory: I have over a decade of call center experience, and through a series of events, I’ve had the responsibilities of QA, Workforce Management, Supervising, and more. Because of how call centers work, they tend to not give you the titles while they just pile more and more work onto you (yes I know this is common elsewhere too) and they work you until you can’t anymore. So, after realizing that I’m not going anywhere in that career, I figured I’d go for a change. Maybe Data Entry, or something where I could use all the skills I’ve built up.

And no one will even call me for an interview. Those that have, the first question they ask me is “Would you be okay not talking to customers? This job may be boring for you.” And then I never hear from them again.

I feel so insanely stuck because no one will hire me, except call centers, and if I apply at a call center, I’m hired on within a week, and then I hate my life immensely after.

I’ve paid a few different places to update my resume, I’ve had resume professionals look over it, I’ve taken interview classes, I’ve done everything I can think of and I still can’t get out of call centers.

It shouldn’t be this hard.
