So, I work for AT&T (sadly) and I had my eyes on a new pilot project that they are developing, and they needed volunteers to apply to get trained as the first group supporting the product (end-to-end).
Well, I applied. And then I got an acceptance email and a 1on1 with my future manager for the role.
They told me that more info was to be coming my way in the following week, including time-frames and salary and whatnot.
Today I got an email that I was denied the promotion.
I asked for clarifications and I got the answer. My stats (KPI) are low. But they're not, they're high. So I asked them to show me what my stats are, since they are low, and they gave them to me. They were wrong and I corrected them on the spot.
My KPI are all where they need to be, so there was a mistake when you calculated it. I hoped that would be the end of it, they'll see they made a mistake and they'd fix it.
Nope. They low-key agreed although they wouldn't commit to the simple fact that they had wrong data about my performance, but they told me the decision cannot be revised.
I am feeling broken. I am feeling also paranoid and probably I shouldn't be (paranoid as in “someone who doesn't like me made the mistake on purpose to not give me the promotion”).
How can I be offered a position and then taken away on lies. How can a wrong decision be ironclad. They must have ways to fix it, or so I think.
PS: sorry for my English, not native.
