What to tell boss who says “others are getting laid off at the company you should feel grateful to have a job”

My company recently went through layoffs and budget cuts resulting in a 10% decrease in my total compensation. Now they are making changes and increasing the workload significantly with fewer staff. When I voiced my concerns on this increase in responsibility and decrease in compensation I was told “there's no real change in workload just a change in scope” smh. When I insisted there was more work with less heads I got told “it could be worse, the rest of the company is still laying people off so I should be grateful to have work.” I have a meeting with my manager about this but don't really know what to say in response to these statements when they inevitably come back up. Any suggestions?
