For starters I've been with this company for 6 years, working in the manufacturing field. Recently had a position open up for a promotion (in my eyes). Went through extensive interviews and was between myself and a newer candidate. Internal positions usually go to the more experienced and seniority where it's seen fit.
Coworker on the machine I work on got injured outside of work. Now they tell me I can no longer be considered for the position due to my COWORKERS injury. Is this legal? Is there anything I can do? I've been trying for years to get an internal promotion because I saw myself there for a long time.
Work in Connecticut. Any help is appreciated. I feel like I've been thrown in front of a bus.
