I’ve been sticking it out at my families business for years now. I started part time when I was 16 and I’m 25 now. I have learned alot about the products we sell but not much about how the business runs. My grandfather is the owner he insists me staying but he doesn’t come in anymore. I technically work under my uncle and even he himself has said that he wants family to stay but has not really helped me either. Im basically one of the other employees but different because I’m the owners grandson. This has made us difficult because I’ve dealt with jealousy from other employees, I don’t feel like I get much responsibility as others, I new coworker try’s to step on my toes and do my job and gets words of praise from my uncle for it. Im frustrated because I don’t want to waste my time working her if it isn’t going to benefit me in the future. I just want a financially secure future for myself and my family and not be like my fellow co workers and bitch about being “broke”.
