This was the power cable on the freezer cabinet used to hold custard tubs. It has been like this since I had started at my job a few months ago. It would contact with the metal wheels of the custard machine when we would move the cabinet, causing a bright spark. Others told me that they had voiced complaints in the past but were brushed off by the general manager. I had a short talk with all of our shift leads and the general manager, telling them that if they didn't fix it I would go to corporate and/or OSHA. Sure enough, just a few days ago the cable was replaced and the general manager told me that he had it fixed since he didn't want anyone to get hurt. Moral of the story: in the words of my old robotics teacher in high school, “if something is wrong, bitch at someone to get it fixed. And if they ignore you, bitch at their boss, and then their boss until someone listens.”
