Is it legal for employment to be in a lease agreement?

So, I found out that the place where I work (last day is next week because of shit like this) has an employee whose employment is in the lease agreement with the landlord. The employee worked for the landlord in the business that was in the building previously, and when the new owners took over the building, the landlord wrote in the lease agreement that they had to employ this person. I cannot imagine that this is legal. Am I wrong? She’s a terrible coworker who can’t be fired.
