My job is having employees re write their Job Descriptions to more accurately reflect our day to day and to sign a telecommuting agreement. This is at the top of the proposed JD (and not on my original JD):

Employees are expected to perform other functions as assigned or requested to further support the organization’s mission.
I told my boss how I am not going to sign this as it will ensure that the extra work I have been doing as part of my current job, without being paid for it, will become a part of my current responsibilities.
Is this even legal? We got hired under one JD, have been performing/going above and beyond according to that, and now they want us to create a new JD based on the work we are actually doing. The work we have been going above and beyond for is now going to be part of “regular responsibility”.
I am in Cali and would appreciate any advice.
