My boss just eliminated unlimited PTO and established a micromanaging hellscape

I’m looking for another job immediately. We went from unlimited PTO and flexible hours to 12 days total PTO per year, which accumulates 1/2 day per pay period (2 weeks), aka 1 day per month. If you’re a new employee you start the year with 0 days PTO, but if you’ve worked 5+ years you start with…8. So. Employees with 5+ years at the company have a maximum of 20 days off. It rolls over, but you’re not allowed to take more than 20 days off per year. On top of that, we’re not getting paid for lunch breaks, and total paid breaks are limited to 20 min/day. We went from unlimited PTO and flexible hours to 12 days total PTO per year, which accumulates 1/2 day per pay period (2 weeks), aka 1 day per month. It rolls over, but you’re not allowed to take more than 20 days off per year.

On top of that, we’re not getting paid for lunch breaks, and total paid breaks are limited to 20 min/day.

We have to log our hours in a slack channel. We are discouraged from working from home, and if we do work from home, we have to send whatever we worked on that day to my boss. He keeps a spreadsheet of all our PTO hours, which we would have to request to see how much PTO we have at a given time. Yes, we have an employee pay portal. He declined to use it.

We have a morning remote meeting every day. If you miss said meeting, you get docked 15 min PTO.

We’re an engineering firm of professionals. Some of us have PhDs and years of experience in the field.

I’m relatively new, so while I sure as fuck am applying elsewhere, I don’t know how long it will take to get a new job.

We’re a small company, and if we all express extreme dissatisfaction, maybe it might at least increase the number of days off. I want to send out an anonymous survey, anonymously of course, but I don’t know how and I’m terrified it will link back to me. I want to say something, but I fear retribution. But this is the most absurd insulting crackdown on attendance, and I want to make sure my boss knows no one is happy about it, and that it’s probably going to lead to decreased productivity.

I’m mainly here to rant but suggestions are more than welcome
