I have worked at a coffee chain for 5 years now going on 6. I’m a shift lead and I have never been in trouble or written up until this happened. I’ve been told I am one of the best workers, and I really do bust my ass and put in my 100 percent. My last two managers loved me, and I’ve been my formal managers right hand man when it comes to catching others stealing. But in February, we got a new manager.
I have no idea why, but this manager hates me. I won’t go into detail about other stuff. But recently we have been missing alot of money. Like 30-40 a day.
The first weekend it happened, she texted me about it asking why. I told you o had no idea and I just count what’s there, no response. Next day me along with 4 other shift leaders were written up. I put my two week notice in at that point because I felt like I did nothing wrong, the other were written up for not counting the drawers, but I was written up because it was short. I tried to explain that I count them when I first come in and they are already short from the day, no response.
Fast forward a week, and all the shifts leads are told to count the drawers
Multiple times a day, and all week the drawers are not short. Then on Friday, when I close and count, money is missing again. I text her telling her I don’t know what’s going on, no response. The next day I figured out what was happening. Turns out a new employee was hitting the wrong button on the register making the computer think there is more money than there actually is. So I confirm this, then I text her telling her. No response. The next day which is today the new employee and witnesses tell the manager that he was causing the issue, she doesn’t fully believe him. I come in and people are telling me she is still telling every one that I’m the one stealing money. I don’t know what to do . There’s alittle more to it but that’s the basic of it. What should my next step be? I’m thinking about calling the district manager and seeing about transfering
