I’ve worked at this company for almost 2 years. It is my first job out of college. It’s a global company, however this site seems to have been neglected. It’s unorganized, understaffed, and honestly unsafe. I’ve considered quitting before, and even went through a few interviews but nothing really came of that. Anyway, my partner and I have decided that we would like to move out of the area we’re in. We just want to try a new city and have some fun before we settle down. So, I’ve been interviewing for jobs and hopeful we’ll be able to move sometime this year. However, I feel like I am getting sucked in more and more to this company. More responsibilities (but no pay increase ofc), trainings scheduled for later this year, new projects being started, etc. And of course, last week, my coworker (same title as me), put in his 2 weeks. Now people are scrambling, and I assume a lot of the work is going to fall on me. Today, my boss said to me: “Youre not planning on leaving forever, are you?” I obviously couldn’t say yes, and then he said “If you’re ever considering leaving, I want you to talk to me first so we can work it out.” So now I feel like I’m screwed. Should I stay?
