Managers terrorising employees they don’t like

I see it as incredibly malicious, cowardly and unprofessional on behalf of upper management. Instead of having a proper discussion to try and resolve it, they’d resort to indirect malpractice such as cutting hours, withholding information and denying career progression. Let me share some examples. Crew A is very experienced, working at numerous locations. Managers dislike Crew A because of sense of entitlement, brashness and refusal to change working habits resulting in only 10 hours a week Manager B is seen as “a lazy manager”. Instead of motivating, they withhold information such as not sharing manager meetings, rosters, projections etc. Crew C has tried to be a manager numerous times but has been denied simply because Crew C is arrogant, refusing most input from managers and may be insubordinate. Everything I listed is BAD from the employees, but does it warrant them being treated like shit? One thing they all…

Manager B is seen as “a lazy manager”.

One thing they all have in common is their attitudes are really bad, refusing input or constructive feedback from managers they don’t like. Therefore higher-ups retaliate by barring them from career advancement. One of them was even told that a manager is doing “everything he can to get rid of him” All this seems to be less about the employee’s work ethic/ability and more of “I don’t like you so I’m going to make your life hell”.

Basically I’m a pacifist/people pleaser. I really really REALLY don’t want this to happen to me so I stfu, keep my head down, do as I’m told and never give attitude or talk back to those higher than me…
