I need a sanity check about work situation

I need a sanity check … So, my job is requiring me to stay in a hotel in a rural area for M-F, 12 hour days, for about 3-4 months this summer. This all came out of nowhere and I only found out about this a couple of weeks ago (starting this next week). The only fortunate thing is that I'm able to drive back after the work day on Friday to be back at my place for the weekend (2.5 hour drive). I need a sanity check …

So, my job is requiring me to stay in a hotel in a rural area for M-F, 12 hour days, for about 3-4 months this summer. This all came out of nowhere and I only found out about this a couple of weeks ago (starting this next week). The only fortunate thing is that I'm able to drive back after the work day on Friday to be back at my place for the weekend (2.5 hour drive).

There is practically nothing to do there; no healthy restaurants, no kitchenette. A lot of my hobbies involve the internet and I've been trying to build an online-based business (which is a bit of a pipe-dream but I really enjoy it) & the internet availability at this hotel is practically non-existant…so I will lose any momentum that I've built up. Any sports commitments…I cant do. I have an engineering degree with a couple years of experience and I'm making like 24/hour. That's just problems with having to live in a rural hotel for most of the summer…nevermind the 60 hour weeks.

I'm pretty stressed out about this situation. Would many people put up with this sort of thing??? Am I being dramatic for thinking that it's going to be absolutely terrible? I feel like I'm being grossly exploited but…there aren't a lot of options for work in this area.
