Is this idea wrong: all levels of an organization should have the same pay. Period. (Aside from experience considerations)

I believe that whatever your position is, you contribute something significant to an organization. If your position is not “important”, hence the low pay, then your position should not exist then. I am super angry at the posts about CEOs getting millions of bonuses when the people who actually make the org run day to day barely lives. As someone who worked the lowest rank, I sometimes think I work harder than some of my bosses. I did unpaid OT (yes, I have learned to be better and will never do this to myself again), while they go home on time. In my case, if I did not do my work, people above me will have nothing to do. So why is it that upper mgmt gets more pay? I agree that experience should make your pay better. But I hate that general pay is based on your position. So…

I agree that experience should make your pay better.

But I hate that general pay is based on your position. So if there is no position open, you will stay where you are. Even if your position level is removed, the whole org might collapse?

I’ve also seen pay differences cause envy in people even if it is not your fault that you are paid higher.

Please tell me if or where I am wrong.
