I had a great, stable job as an Associate Product Manager in my home country, which I quit because I got a much better position and salary at a company in the Netherlands. I applied in the first place to be closer to my ex-partner, who is running a business in the NL. We shortly broke up due to irreconcilable differences weeks before I flew to the NL.
Meanwhile I was getting emails from the HR regarding the onboarding plans etc, right until the day prior to my flight.
A day after my arrival, the hiring manager called me to tell me that they won’t be able to continue with my offer due to “structural reorganisation”….. then they wasted my one whole month by giving me the false hope of “finding other opportunities within the organisation” while I’m trying to survive in a country all alone, which is atleast 10x more expensive than my home country, jobless. Upon continuous insisting they finally gave me the termination letter and a compensation (refund) to cover the expenses I made to make the move.
Since then I have been trying to find jobs in NL, and in India but to no avail. I am seriously questioning what do I even do if I don’t get any job. Thankfully I don’t have any liabilities or loans right now.
I have an integrated dual degree, BTech and Mtech in Biomedical Engineering and neuroscience, graduated in 2020. Have a total of 2.5 years of work experience in data analytics and product management.
What career options do I have?
