I was super nervous because I just started this role but upon getting some of the documentation it was pretty iffy. Finally got the courage to tell the desk lady 'hey just like… some of your clauses in here are illegal' (regarding not enough paid sick leave etc etc) watch her do a quick google, including a gov page I was just on that mentions employers can face significant jail time for breaching it.
'hmmmm yeah whoopsie, total accident, must be an old contract' (the laws on this havent changed in over 50 years, the company is 10 years old.)
She got everything fixed up fine but yikes they really be trying to pull this shit. My last company did similar which is why I was on the lookout.
