Ive been working there for 3 years i’ve always been on call i was always there to fill the gap when they were understaffed and recently i got my first paycheck from youtube and it turned out to be a lot more than what i expected when it comes to money. Being tired of regular job and my boss knowing i have another source of income i asked my boss if i could take a few months off to focus on other projects of mine. He answered “you only work 3 days a week i don’t understand why you’d need a vacation” he said he can only give me one month of unpaid vacation. I was aware of the unpaid thing since it’s a restaurant and most restaurant jobs are awful but anyways, i agreed to give him some time to find someone to replace me during my vacation. It has been one month and he haven’t said a word about it yet no development on the situation but he did take a 2 week vacation to mexico with another bartender at the place. Which kinda insulted me not because he went to mexico but they always seem to wait til last minute to give me what i need. i have been working my ass off for them in the past 3 years and i rarely ask for anything except vacations once a year.
Same thing happened last year when i asked for 2 weeks off. They had me wait 5 months for it i got burned out from that since at the time they had me work 6 days a week.
I am seriously considering quitting my job because of that. I feel like i do not matter for them and they have no appreciation for me and i’m just there as a convenience for them and also the pay is really bad.
If i quit i can litterally live off of my money for 4 years if i spend it correctly and also i make money every month from youtube.
