He's in finance and going into his junior year in college.
He got an offer from a financial planning firm where he'd work unpaid for the summer and they would hire him full time in the fall. Personally, I'm 100% convinced that this full time position will never materialize and he would have wasted one of his last few carefree summers working for some shyster firm for free.
Also, I think unpaid internships should be illegal, period. So I am super-biased. That's what I told him when he brought it up.
But maybe I'm wrong. Is this a thing in finance?
