Rallying U.S. retail workers to boycott their jobs.

Like the title says, I’ve been looking to organize a boycott of retail jobs (and other non-essential positions) in an effort to hurt corporate companies and vie for better benefits & wages for workers. I feel this sub would be a good place to find like-minded people who will actually consider this and discuss the real-world ramifications of said boycott. I’ve been posting on social media and discussing this with my peers, but I’ve found that people in America are EXTREMELY scared of losing their jobs. Ideally, I would like to see as many corporate workers as possible deny attendance in-office or online (if working from home) from July 4, 2024 to July 11, 2024. Two weeks would be better. Pulling this off would require great preparation for the individuals involved. It becomes easier if all co-workers are participating. A company is less likely to eliminate an entire staff compared to a select few employees. I propose saving money and accumulating groceries and necessities for this period of absence. There would need to be a contingency plan in place (alternative income) and several demands would need to be made clear by the public. The point would be to highlight the importance of the average worker and power of the people.

I’m looking for your help to expand upon this idea. To me, it is very achievable, but it’s quite politically charged and the American public is quite divided. Although, I would love if the movement were to start HERE, in this post. Please start by sharing a snippet of this post that includes the dates in question wherever you can to help me make this a reality
