Customer service job costed me a chunk of my future.

My best friend of 10 years+ and myself started working together for a customer service company that has a giant clothing website. We're both mid 20's. We were supposed to have 2 weeks training. Then first 3 months would be email only. And we'd be slowly introduced to Phone calls and chat. Now the reality of that: We got 7 days “training” which was 6 days of connection issues and sick trainers all over the place, in the end we had 1 day to which someone who has never trained before show us what he's working with. He didn't speak our language either. Then the moment after we were put into calls. And then the third day we had to do Chat and Email as well. Even after asking multiple people for help, because we were flooded with angry customers that we all weren't able to help. HR, the supervisors,…

HR, the supervisors, and team leads. Nothing was done to that. They just ignored everything but did get pissed off when we made mistakes.

To make it better, I showed 10 screenshots of multple conversations to every higher up possible, saying that I'm feeling burnt out, and I need more training, and help etc etc. In the end, I called in sick. And when you call in sick, you get a doctor assigned that's part of the government that's specialty is for sickness during work, if that makes sense.

HR's reply: I understand that you need help, but we can't help you much if you decide to just call in sick. ( And this was AFTER the doctor already told them I was incapable of working ) My best friend was fired that same day because he got covid and called in sick.

In the end, 5 people ended up with severe work burn-out, including my best friend and myself. We're barely surviving money wise, but we're no longer at that company thank god. But so far, I am still not able to work, it's been a year now.

Sorry for the extremely long post, I hope you guys never got to experience this.
