Typing this out of my phone so sorry for the format.
My supervisor is a 68 y.o bitter woman and nit picks everything I do. Sometimes I can get her to smile and even laugh but for the most part she just HAS to say something to me.
Even if what I’m doing is correct, she has to tell me how she does it even though we all of our own ways of getting things done. It’s not about how you do it, as long as the job is done. I could be doing something EXACTLY the way she taught me and she’d STILL correct me🤦️
I’m a 21 year old female btw.
I also work with her at my weekend (steakhouse) job. She actually recruited me to the full time job through the restaurant.
She goes behind my back to others as well as looks through the trash to see what I work on on days she isn’t at work, today she told me the things I had marked on my personal calendar was wrong. she can’t let me be.
I’m going blank now that I’m actually trying to describe it, but she’s steady on my ass for the littlest things.
She doesn’t like that I’m eventually going to take over her position bc her health is declining (she was mean before she started having issues, so that’s no excuse) and she knows if I learn everything, then we won’t need her. Due to that, she won’t show me how to do certain things. She flat out refuses to teach me things because she doesn’t want me learning her job.
It’s not like I want it. They offered it to me when she had to be out for knee surgery and I said sure🤷️ she’s still my supervisor, I just know how to do her job and she can’t stand it.
Anyways, are all old people like this? (My 60 y.o male coworker is the same way about people knowing about something he doesn’t)
I suppose they’re both considered boomers, is it a boomer thing?
