Scenario: I'm middle management guy, have been in projects for around the last 13 yrs. Been at my current workplace for over a year. My manager a “director”, instructed me to provide training to other divisional directors on a functionality of an ERP/Project management system we're supposed to be experts in. Fine I thought, until they suffixed the instruction with, “I'll be attending too, consider it a test fake laugh“
Am I being overly sensitive? I feel like I've gone back to school! My boss is my boss, understood. I'm not fresh out of uni, I'm a seasoned professional and the idea that I'm having to fulfill a test at my “boss's” whim makes me feel decidedly uncomfortable and frankly undermined.
I've spoken to colleagues and their response is very much the boss is the boss.
Question: Am I overreacting???
Thx for any responses!
